Hi, I'm Tom! I design covers for academic, scholarly books and journals. I also do other design work like promotional material for book launches and events, logos, and social media.
I've been making book covers for over 10 years for all kinds of authors and publishers, but I'm particularly experienced in picture research and designs suitable for open access (OA) publishers that require rights-free images (e.g. Public Domain, or licensed with a Creative Commons licence).
I can supply a design brief template that helps you to capture all the elements you need on your book (front, back and spine) and from that will create you a couple of choices to pick from. I deliver the finished layout in the format you need and can lay it out into your printer's template (e.g. Lightning Source). I can supply you with all the final files.
Chips & Grady doesn't use AI in any designs - what you are paying for is years of specialist experience and skills learned over many years, someone who will talk to you to understand your brief and will respond quickly when changes are needed near deadline.
